Skating: Thomas Bing & Heli Heiskanen wins

Thomas Bing, athlete of the German National XC team wins today’s skating race over 30km ahead his team colleagues Florian Notz and Lukas Bögl. Heli Heiskanen (FIN) is the women’s winner.

Over 600 athletes from 26 different nations participated in the 30km race in free technique from Fiames to the Nordic Arena Toblach. Besides many amateurs, also the German National XC Team participated in the race due to preparations for the FIS Nordic World Championsships. 

The men’s podium was coloured in the German National colours black-red-gold. Thomas Bing was able to tear a gap on the last 100m and won the race only 6 seconds ahead his team collegue Florian Nortz. 3rd placed Lukas Bögl was 11 seconds behind. The best Italian skier was Pietro Dutto on a 6th place. The local athlete Julian Brunner finished on a very good 08th place.

The women’s race winner Heli Heiskanen from Finland finished over one minute ahead of the russian skier Natalia Zernova. 3rd placed Elisa Kasslatter from Italy was 5min behind Heiskanen.
